Dr. Sergio Lizama-Hernandez (he/him/his) grew up in the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico. He received his medical degree from Universidad Anahuac before completing his Internal Medicine residency at St. Agnes Healthcare in Baltimore, and his Endocrinology fellowship at University of Maryland Medical Center. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine and considers himself an ally for the LGBTQ+ community. He has a specialized interest in personal care and interprofessional collaboration to help treat patients with a diverse, and often complex, set of endocrine ailments and determinants of health, to mitigate barriers and improve outcomes. His interests include gender affirming hormone therapy/transgender medicine, obesity/weight management, male hypogonadism, diabetes mellitus, osteoporosis, and thyroid-related disease.
