Dr. Nicholas Argento

Dr Argento attended Georgetown University and graduated magna cum laude honors with a BS in Biology. He attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine and graduated with cum laude honors, and completed his Residency in Internal Medicine, his Fellowship in Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolism, and then was selected as Chief Medical Resident at the University of Maryland Medical System. He joined Maryland Endocrine full time in 1991. He has been the Medical Advisor to the diabetes program at Howard County General Hospital since 1995, and speaks at the Living with Diabetes education program held there regularly. He has a strong interest in type 1 diabetes, and has extensive experience in utilizing insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) to help patients safely achieve tight blood glucose control. He has been asked to address local, national and international audiences on the clinical application of CGM technology.

Dr. Elizabeth Briggs

Dr. Elizabeth Briggs completed her undergraduate studies at St. Mary's College of Maryland. She next attended the University of Virginia School of Medicine and received her medical degree. She then moved to Rochester, NY, and completed Internal Medicine residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center. She has since returned to Maryland, and completed fellowship training in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the University of Maryland Medical Center. She is a member of the Endocrine Society and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. Dr. Briggs is Board Certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.

Dr. Kayla Cunningham

Dr. Kayla Cunningham completed her undergraduate degree at Oberlin College. She attended Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons for medical school, where she received her M.D. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. She finished her fellowship in Endocrinology Diabetes and Metabolism at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Cunningham is Board Certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.

Dr. Lynne A. Gaynes-Kaplan

Dr. Lynne A. Gaynes-Kaplan completed her undergraduate studies at University of Rochester. She then graduated from the University of Southern California School of Medicine in 1978. She completed her internal medicine residency at University of Maryland Hospital followed by fellowship training in Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolism at the National Institutes of Health. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology. Dr Gaynes has also served as the President of the Medical Staff at Laurel Regional Hospital, Laurel, Maryland. She has special interest in diabetes, thyroid and polycystic ovarian disease.

Dr. Ann Hagen

Dr. Ann Hagen completed her undergraduate studies at Wake Forest University. She then graduated cum laude from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1989. She completed her internal medicine residency followed by fellowship training in Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolism at the University of Maryland Medical System. She joined Maryland Endocrine, PA in 1995 and continues her practice with interest in managing diabetes, thyroid disease and other endocrine disorders.

Dr. Heidi Karon

Dr. Heidi Karon received a B.S. in Biology from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She received her medical degree from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. She completed a residency in Internal Medicine at University of Maryland Medical Center, where she went on to complete her fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. Dr. Karon is Board Certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. Her interests include endocrine issues during pregnancy, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and thyroid disease.

Dr. Yasmin Khan

Dr. Yasmin Khan completed her undergraduate studies at the College of Notre Dame. She went on to train in Internal Medicine followed by her fellowship in Endocrinology at University of Maryland. She has memberships in AACE, Endocrine Society, and ADA. Dr. Khan is Board Certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.

Dr. Barry Lance

Dr. Barry Lance grew up in Norfolk, Virginia. He received a B.A. from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. He then received an M.D. degree from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. His residency in Internal Medicine was served in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at Mount Sinai Hospital, a teaching hospital of the University of Wisconsin. Fellowship training in Endocrinology and Metabolism was completed in 1982 at the University of Maryland. Dr. Lance then began an endocrinology practice, that later became Maryland Endocrine, PA. He is a member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology and the American Diabetes Association. Dr. Lance is Board Certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.

Dr. Rosalie Naglieri

Dr. Rosalie Naglieri received a B.A. in Biology from State University of New York at Binghamton. She then attended Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York where she received her medical degree. Her residency in Internal Medicine was served at University of Maryland Medical Center, where she went on also to complete her fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. She has been published in Diabetes Care and other medial journals. Dr. Naglieri is Board Certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. Her interests include thyroid disease, thyroid cancer, diabetes and polycystic ovarian syndrome.
